Okay... here I am again on the Dragon Blazers Beta Build... or I should say WE, because I invited my neighbor back to watch me again.

Hopefully... for the final time. (for those curious, yes, i've been writing these in real time, and make edits later on XP)

If you haven't read my last post on this build, it's important you do so to understand this chapter.

Anyways, loading chapter 4, the game greets you with a seamless transition into the shelter interior. (i say seamless, but the whole process of changing chapters makes it not seamless at all X/)

This is a completely undocumented area in Dragon Blazers... (as well as real life im pretty sure?)

It was a deep blue labyrinth. Tons of dangerous enemies like Green Lizards, Burning Flowers, and even Cats. (including their pink variant!!) It was crazy to see so many of these rare enemy types next to each other! Normally they're all separated in complete different areas of the map...

The area had a short, eerie, looping track that I couldn't seem to recognize. It really sounded like the plinking of an out of tune piano, but with some adjustments made to turn it into an uncomfortable song.

I made good use of the Rude Buster spell, since I had been reset back to level one, and definitely would struggle with solely melee combat against these enemies.

When I reach level 3, I head to the right, where a portion of the far wall with a suspicious outline I had noticed earlier fell. (i'd gotten so used to the game that it was like i was playing it on autopilot now! XP)

That had led to a looongggg hallway, and when I was in about the middle of it? Cat enemies started rushing down towards me. (i don't think they implemented the hitboxes though, since they just passed right through me and kept running) I scraped up all the experience I could from them until I hit max level.

I walked into the next room, and... it was pitch black

A lone, puppet looking enemy stood. His skin was a blinding white, nose long enough to be it's own weapon, and slick back hair that put any 90s gangster to shame.

He cackled as the screen glitched. The puppet had his own voice clips that were nearly illegible due to the bit crush.

"SO [[ANGEL]] HAS FINALLY ARR1VED!"

His tiny pixelated body threw his arms up and down rapidly. An eerie, unnatural grin kept stagnant on the puppet's face.

Me and my neighbor looked at each other awkwardly. His speech pattern was familiar.

"HEY HEY H3Y! DON'T [[You equipped the ]] ME THAT LoOK! YOUR OLD PAL [[thesalesman.lurk.me]] JU$T NE3DS [[#1RATEDSALESMAN1997]] THING FROM YOU."

The screen cut black, then when it returned... he had morphed. He was this weird amalgamation of orange and black, with his only recognizable feature being his head, which still rested on top.

"DON'T [[Side effects include:]] [HOCHI MAMA]!! I JU$T NE3D [[The cage]]'S [[HeartShapedObject]] TO FINALLY BECOME A TRUE B1G SHOT. HOW'S ANOTHER D3AL SOUND, KID? CAN'T BE AS BAD AS [[HELP ME! IT BURNS! I'M SORRY! I'LL STOP!!]]"

A boss battle started. The first and hopefully last in this entire beta. An arena materialized as he began flying around.

There were 6 total attacks I counted this fight having. His first attack involved him opening his mouth, letting blue circles from that Cat Petterz II mod fly out directly at you. The second attack has him flying across the screen, swinging what I presume to be his arms, dealing damage on contact. He reuses the blue circles from his first attack for his third, seemingly spawning them out of his arm and onto the floor. After some time, the circles turned red and exploded. The fourth attack is more of a support than anything. He blocks half the screen with a worthless dialogue box. You can mash to make it go away, at least XP. His fifth attack has him spawning these weird little red mites, which act as minions that try and corner you to deal damage. You can just one shot them with your sword, though. Finally, his last attack has him shoot out rays that bounce off the walls of the arena. (the area is so packed together that it makes this attack super super dangerous if you're not careful.)

I managed to beat him first try with careful usage of Rude Buster. I was surprised honestly, but I guess I had just gotten a lot better since I first started this build...

Anyways, the puppet falls to the ground... and then the game ends?

Yeah, really abrupt.

I wasn't sure what to make of it all, but my neighbor seemed pretty shaken up, so I didn't bother to turn the game back on.

Weeelllll X/ that's it. I probably won't post anything more on this beta... I'm really glad Dragon Blazers turned out to be the game we all know and enjoy... not whatever this mess was.

Thank you guys for joining me on this journey. I'll see you in my next post!
